Talented Performer

 

Since an early age, he has been a semi-professional musician, touring extensively and playing to crowds of several thousands in Europe’s leading concert halls. With the Irish/Scottish band, Shantalla, he recorded two highly acclaimed albums: Shantalla (1998) and Seven Evenings, Seven Mornings (2001) and has guested on several other albums. Consulting: Prior to founding Wide Circle in 2003 Gerry Murray spent nine years at the world headquarters of DHL, the express logistics company, holding a variety of global roles in marketing, strategic planning, finance, investor relations and corporate communications. His early commercial experience was gained in sales and marketing management in the publishing & training industry.
Training: Since several years he is a regular trainer in corporations and at the European Institutions on a wide range of subjects including: Communication, Networking, MultiCultural Awareness, Change, Stress Management, Personal Goal Setting, Assertiveness, Creative Problem Solving, Team Building, Leadership, Presentation Skills & Writing.
Coaching: Each year he works with a few select coaching clients who want to make a significant breakthrough in their lives.

Highly Qualified

 

He is a Master Practitioner (certified by John Grinder) and a Certified Trainer of NLP, an Instructor of Hypnotherapy and holds Practitioner Certificates in TimeLine Therapy and NLP Coaching. He has studied/trained under many of the leading thinkers and developers in the field, including: Richard Bandler, Robert Dilts, Judith DeLozier, Joseph O’Connor, Charles Faulkner, Judith Lowe, David Shephard, Cricket Kemp, John Seymour, Stephen Gilligan, Shelle Rose Charvet, David Molden, Steve McDermott….He is currently researching how to improve confidence and performance.

 

Gerry has a BA in French & Linguistics from University College Dublin, an MBA from Manchester Business School and a diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, where he also holds the status of Chartered Marketer. In 2006, he was made a Fellow of the Institute of Internal Communications and was the 2009 Chairman of the International Association of Business Communicators’ (IABC) European Excel Awards committee. From 2005 to 2007 Murray was President of IABC Belgium. He has held positions on IABC’s Europe Middle East board and is former European editor of its Communications World magazine. He is also a member of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD).
